My only problem is that I don't really have enough friends with VR gear to give it a go. Well, at the very least, go have the devs play the old game and use it to get some ideas for the new game. It'd be essentially impossible-or, more properly, it'd be cheaper and easier to commission some original new content.

You'd have to sign all new contracts with the original voice actors, work out how to share revenue between Activision and Ubi, possibly re-work all the international distribution rights since they may be totally different between publishers, and so on and so on. The fun is in how well (or how poorly) you can make those things happen in VR with friends or strangers.Īs for re-using stuff from Bridge Commander.that doesn't seem even remotely likely, unless you'd just re-use the ideas for new missions.

There's not a lot of variety in the missions, and honestly the missions themselves just all sort of blend together. Even though that game was developed by Activision and not Ubisoft, couldn't Paramount or Ubisoft make a deal with Activision and bring some of the Bridge Commander missions into Bridge Crew? I mean, the voice assets and scripts are already there. There was another Bridge Crew-esque Star Trek game a few years back - Star Trek Bridge Commander. I've heard a lot of complaints about the lack of mission variety and story with Bridge Crew.
